In Grosses Death, Foul play reported: Food poisoning ruled as cause of death

With initial reports of carbon monoxide inhalation as cause of death of a Liberian family visiting Liberia from the United States, latest reports emerging out of Monrovia have it that the couple died of food poisoning.

Lawrence Gross and his wife Shelly were discovered dead in a room they were occupying in a family house while vacationing in Liberia for the holiday season. Initially, all reports and evidences pointed to carbon monoxide inhalation. However, after further investigations and the visit of a renowned Nigerian Pathologist to conduct forensic examination, a source closed to the case has informed Gbana Corner that the Pathologist has ruled food poisoning as cause of death of Lawrence and Shelly Gross. Though the Liberian National Police hasn't made official announcement about the Pathologist's report, but it is also being reported that the brother of the deceased is currently in police custody undergoing questioning.

Family sources said the couple visited the brother of Lawrence only known as "K" one day before their demise and it is believed that they dined and had some drinks with him before coming home to relax for the day. Previous reports have been sketchy. One report have it that Lawrence woke up in the middle of the night and found foam coming out of his wife Shelly mouth. He then called for help and when Shelly's parents entered the room, they fell off as Lawrence had already fallen off too.

In the meantime, the Liberia National Police is expected to make an announcement as early as next week concerning the case. Keep posted!
